Promo On Ice— Our Best Winter Athleticwear

Your customers’ outdoor adventures don’t need to end when the summer does!

Winter is an amazing time to get outside and enjoy nature or get involved in seasonal activities like skiing and skating. With the right winter athleticwear, your customers can take full advantage of wintertime, enjoying all the beauty and fun the season has to offer!

Why Winter Athleticwear Matters

Apparel for winter sports and activities faces a unique challenge. On one hand, winter athleticwear needs to be breathable, prevent overheating, and allow its wearers to maintain maximum mobility. On the other hand, it needs to keep its wearers warm and protected from icy winds and frigid temperatures. That’s quite a tall order!

Needs will vary based on the temperature and the type of activity, but generally, there are a few key features to look out for when choosing practical and high-quality winter garments:

1) Moisture-wicking fabric:
A good base layer will be made with moisture-wicking fabric. This will help regulate body temperature and keep wearers comfortable by wicking moisture away from the skin and retaining warmth.

2) Breathable layers:
In wintertime, layering is king. By wearing multiple layers of clothing, athletes can adjust their outfits to their needs and present environment. Breathability in the under and middle layers allows hot air to escape, which is very important for body temperature regulation.

Featuring promotional base layer options like stretchy leggings (1355916) and long-sleeved tee (CM1001).

3) Insulation:
Wearing well-insulated clothing can prevent athletes from needing to bundle up in thick jackets that can seriously reduce mobility. Insulation in winter sports clothing is typically made from fleece or synthetic fabrics. Down is also one of the most popular insulators. Insulation prevents the loss of body heat to the cold surrounding air, helping wearers maintain a warm body temperature–even in freezing conditions.

4) Stretch/mobility:
Back to our earlier point about mobility, sometimes in the pursuit of warmth, the garments we choose in the wintertime are stiff, puffy, or otherwise inflexible in a way that seriously reduces an athlete’s mobility. The goal with winter athleticwear is to provide warmth and comfort while having little to no impact on the wearer’s range of motion.

5) Wind and Water Resistance:
If your customers are going to be outside in the elements, a wind- and water-resistant outer layer is a necessity. A lightweight but durable outer shell will keep its wearers comfortable in snowy, rainy, and windy conditions.

Under Layers

A proper winter outfit starts with a solid base layer. To start your audience off on the right foot for their winter adventures, you’ll want to offer them some high-quality, moisture-wicking basics like these stretchy leggings and this comfy long-sleeved tee.

Middle Layers

A lightweight vest makes for an ideal middle layer to keep an athlete’s torso warm and their arms fully mobile. Alternatively, a quarter-zip is another great middle layer that will work well on its own, or serve as an extra layer of protection underneath a vest.

For the absolute coldest of days, a thin-down jacket like this one can be slid underneath an outer jacket. When it’s not so cold, it can also be used as a great outer layer!

To keep their legs warm, your audience will likely reach for a pair of sweatpants or joggers like these, which fit loosely and can fit comfortably over a thermal base layer.

Outer Layers

Depending on their priorities, winter athletes might choose either of the following options:

A more classic winter coat, like our 3-in-1 Parka will feature a warming inner layer or lining, and a weather-resistant outer shell. While it doesn’t maximize mobility, it's a great choice for skiing, tobogganing, and more.

Alternatively, a weather-resistant outer shell can offer the mobility and customizability that some winter athletes value in their gear. The Champion Adult Packable Anorak is a great example of an outer layer that is less of an all-in-one solution, and more focused on acting as that protective shell on top of a layered winter outfit.
